Q. How do I pay for my Building?2023-04-06T13:02:31+01:00

A. Cash or Cheque on delivery or Credit Card. VAT is included in all our prices.

Q. What product guarantee do I get?2020-12-11T12:17:32+00:00

A. Buildings are guaranteed for one year, however, Storm Damage is not! Acts of God and physical damage is not covered. Sheds must also have been treated with preservative.

Q. I have a Rustic shed and some of the timber has cracked?2023-04-03T12:21:07+01:00

A. Timber is a natural product that reacts to changes in temperature and climate. Rustic sheds are made from freshly sawn Irish timber and in the normal drying process (especially in very warm weather) cracks can occur. These can be filled with a suitable coloured silicone to ensure shed remains waterproof. Small hairline shakes (commonly mistaken as cracks) can develop in Pressure Treated Shiplap and Barrel Board timber over time but in no way affects the life span of the Shed.

Q. Can I paint my shed?2020-12-11T12:17:32+00:00

A. Shiplap or Pressure Treated Shed can be painted. Rustic Sheds can be painted but as the surface is not planed it is not as easy.

Q. What kind of roofing finishes can I get?2020-12-11T12:17:32+00:00

A. Non-Tear Felt is the standard finish but Ballyfree Garden Buildings can also supply Onduline which is black and made from hardened felt material with a corrugated style finish. Onduline roofing material is guaranteed for 15 years. We can also supply tile effect sheeting and shingles.

Q. Can I get a shed made to my specifications?2020-12-11T12:17:32+00:00

A. Ballyfree can make sheds to order. We will need drawings showing dimensions etc (not necessarily of architectural standard) and a written specification. Alternatively we can arrange a site visit at no extra cost. Any subsequent order will need to be accompanied by a 50% deposit.

Q. What type of Ironmongery is used by Ballyfree Garden Buildings?2020-12-11T12:17:32+00:00

A. We use galvanised Hinges, Bolts and Fasteners, but remember that by putting grease on the ironmongery once a year, it helps to prevent damage from the elements.

Q. What is Pressure Treated Timber?2020-12-11T12:17:33+00:00

A. It’s a process that involves the timber being impregnated with chemicals that leaves the timber preserved and requiring minimum maintenance. The process leaves the timber light green in colour.Although strictly not necessary we do recommend that the inside and outside be treated with a Water Sealer. Unlike other suppliers, when you purchase a Pressure Treated Shed from Ballyfree we use Pressure Treated timber in the roof and floors.

Q. After delivery how often should the shed be coated with preservative?2020-12-11T12:17:33+00:00

A. With the exception of pressure treated, all sheds are treated with a primer coat of preservative before leaving our factory. Within a few months of delivery sheds should be treated on the outside with an oil based preservative and thereafter as recommended by the preservative manufacturer.

Q. Is there a delivery and installation charge?2023-04-06T13:05:00+01:00

A. Our prices for Sheds, Chalets, Cabins, Summerhouses, Wendy and Tree houses include VAT, installation and delivery costs to Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Meath, Waterford, Wexford, Wicklow and parts of Laois, Westmeath and Offaly. For other areas please contact us at:- 0404 44615 or email info@ballyfreegardensheds.ie for details..

Q. How long does delivery and installation take?2020-12-11T12:17:33+00:00

A. The average is between 7 and 10 working days depending on the time of the year. If you have an urgent need we will endeavour to assist if possible. Depending on the size of the shed it can take between 1 and 3 hours to erect.

Q. I have no side access to my back garden?2020-12-11T12:17:33+00:00

A. Let us know of the access problem at the time of ordering. If the shed size is 1.9M (6 feet) or less in width it can be taken through the house assuming there is a straight run through the house. It can also be taken through a garage providing there is straight access to the back. We can make larger sheds in sections but they will incur a surcharge as the manufacturing is more complex and takes longer to construct.

Q. What site preparation is required before delivery?2023-04-03T12:17:37+01:00

A. You need a clear and level site. Sheds should be erected on concrete blocks or paving slabs depending on the type of ground. The number of blocks required depends on the size of the shed. You will have to source the blocks and we will place them when erecting the shed. When considering the location of the shed we recommend that sufficient space should be left around the shed to allow access in the event a coat of preservative is required in later years.

Q. How do I order an off-standard shed?2023-04-03T12:18:23+01:00

A. Select the style and type of finish required. Decide what size shed best suits your needs and check that your proposed site is suitable. Contact us at phone 0404 44615 or email info@ballyfreegardensheds.ie with your requirement and we will assist you with any further questions you may have and will be able to advise on delivery dates etc.

Q. Will the timber in my shed crack?2023-04-03T12:21:59+01:00

A. Timber is a natural product that reacts to changes in temperature and climate. Small hairline shakes (commonly mistaken as cracks) can develop in Shiplap and Barrel Board timber. Because Rustic sheds are made from fresh cut Irish Timber they are more prone to cracking.

Q. What type of timber is used in manufacturing the sheds?2020-12-11T12:17:33+00:00

A. The Rustic Shed is constructed from rough 10mm fresh cut Irish timber with 16mm butt jointed timber used for floor.

The Shiplap Shed is made from planed 22mm kiln dried White Spruce Shiplap timber, and the floor and roof is made from tongued and grooved timber that is also a slow growing timber.

The Barrel Board Shed is manufactured from kiln dried White Spruce timber that has a log shaped finish. The floor and roof is made with tongued and grooved White Spruce.
